The ground rules.

The agreement between you and us when you use QuizGames Live. It covers your account, the free trial, payment, cancellation, your content, your players, our shop and what each of us is responsible for.

1. These terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you and HFGlobal Ltd, trading as QuizGames Live, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 11551377), registered office 1 Sopwith Crescent, Wickford, Essex, SS11 8YU, ICO registration ZC267647 ("we", "us", "our").

By creating an account, starting a free trial, buying anything from us, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data; our Returns Policy and Shipping Policy apply to shop orders. If there is a conflict, these Terms take priority.

If you use the Service for your business, you confirm you have authority to agree to these Terms on its behalf. If you use it as an individual consumer, nothing in these Terms removes the rights you have under UK consumer law.

2. Definitions

  • Service — the QuizGames Live websites, application, connector software, overlays, AI features and everything else we provide under the QuizGames Live name.
  • Host or you — the person or business holding an account.
  • Player — a viewer who takes part in a Host's quiz through a streaming platform's live chat.
  • Plan — a subscription to the Service (for example Basic). Plugin — an add-on game, game show or platform connector. Bundle — a group of Plugins sold together. AI Credits — prepaid units spent on AI features.
  • Content — quizzes, questions, images, audio, video, text, reviews and anything else you create, upload or submit.
  • Shop — the merchandise and digital goods store at quizgameslive.com/shop.

3. Eligibility and your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract. Streaming platforms also require hosts to be 18 or over to go live.
  • You must give accurate information when you register and keep it up to date.
  • Your login details are personal to you. Keep them secret, do not share your account, and tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think someone else has access. You are responsible for everything done through your account until you tell us.
  • One person, one account, unless we agree otherwise in writing.

4. Free trial

  • New Hosts receive a free trial of the length shown at checkout (currently 7 days), with access to the core features of the Service.
  • A valid payment card is required to start the trial. When the trial ends, your subscription starts and the first payment is taken automatically, unless you cancel before the trial ends.
  • You can cancel at any time during the trial from your account dashboard (or by emailing us) and you will not be charged.
  • One trial per person. We may refuse or end a trial if we reasonably believe it is being abused.

5. Plans, Plugins, Bundles and AI Credits

  • The Plans, Plugins, Bundles and AI Credit packs available, and their prices, are those shown on our pricing page at the time you buy. Prices are shown in your chosen currency and include VAT where it applies. The currency you pay in is fixed when you subscribe.
  • Plugins and Bundles are billed with your Plan on the same cycle. A Plugin that needs a particular Plan stops working if you downgrade below that Plan.
  • AI Credits are bought in packs, added to your account on payment, and spent when you use AI features at the rate shown in the app. They do not expire while your account is open, are non-transferable, and have no cash value.
  • Founder pricing. If you subscribed during our launch period at a founder rate, that rate continues for as long as your subscription stays active and continuous. If you cancel and later re-subscribe, the then-current price applies.
  • Price changes. We may change prices for future billing periods. We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before a price increase takes effect. If you do not want to pay the new price, you can cancel before it applies.
  • Some features shown on the website may be marked "coming soon". They are not part of the Service until released, and nothing in these Terms is a promise that they will be released by a particular date.

6. Payment and renewal

  • Payments are taken by our payment provider, Stripe, using the card you provide. By subscribing you authorise us to charge that card for each billing period and for any Plugins, Bundles or Credits you add.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically — monthly Plans every month and annual Plans every year — at the end of each period, until you cancel. Annual Plans are charged in full at the start of each year.
  • If a payment fails, we will email you and our payment provider will retry the card. If payment has still not been made after 3 days, access to the Service is restricted (you can still reach your dashboard and billing pages to update your card) until payment succeeds. If all retries fail, your subscription is cancelled.
  • Receipts are emailed to you and your invoices are available from the billing section of your profile.

7. Your 14-day right to cancel (cooling-off period)

If you are a consumer in the UK, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 give you the right to cancel a subscription within 14 days of starting it. Because our trial is 7 days, the 14-day period usually runs past your first payment. We honour this right in full:

  • You may cancel for any reason within 14 days of the date your subscription began (the day you started your trial), or within 14 days of your first payment if that is later. If you cancel during the trial you are never charged. If you cancel after the first payment but inside the 14 days, we refund that first payment in full, to the original card, within 14 days of your cancellation. Either way, you pay nothing.
  • AI Credit packs bought separately can be cancelled for a full refund within 14 days of purchase if none of the credits have been used.
  • To cancel, cancel from your dashboard or email [email protected] with your account email. You do not need to give a reason.

The cooling-off right does not apply to renewals of a subscription you have held for more than 14 days, or to Shop goods that are made to order (see section 10 and our Returns Policy).

8. Cancelling later, and refunds

  • You can cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. Your access continues until the end of the period you have paid for, and you will not be charged again.
  • Outside the cooling-off period, we do not refund the unused part of a monthly or annual period, because you have had access to the Service for that period. If something has gone wrong — for example the Service has not worked as described — contact us and we will put it right, which may include a refund or credit.
  • If we remove a feature you were paying specifically for, or withdraw the Service, we will offer an equivalent, or refund the unused part of what you have paid.
  • Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 to a repeat performance or a price reduction where a digital service is not as described, not fit for purpose or not of satisfactory quality.

9. Your Content

  • You own the Content you create and upload. We do not claim it.
  • You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, display, transmit and adapt your Content only as needed to provide the Service to you (for example, rendering your quiz on your stream, keeping backups, showing it in your dashboard). This licence ends when you delete the Content, subject to a reasonable period for backups to clear.
  • You are responsible for your Content. You confirm that you have the rights to use it, that it does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights, and that it is not unlawful, defamatory, hateful, pornographic or otherwise objectionable. Quiz questions you write or generate are your responsibility, including their accuracy.
  • We may remove Content that we reasonably believe breaks these Terms or the law, and will tell you if we do unless the law prevents it.

10. The Shop

  • Shop prices are shown in your chosen currency and include VAT where it applies. Delivery costs are shown before you pay.
  • Physical goods are made to order by our print partners after you pay. Your contract for an order is formed when we email you confirmation that it has been accepted. We may cancel and refund an order if an item is unavailable or a pricing error has occurred.
  • Delivery times, destinations, customs charges and lost parcels are covered by our Shipping Policy. Returns, faulty goods and your statutory rights are covered by our Returns Policy. Because items are personalised or made to order, the 14-day cooling-off right does not apply to them unless they are faulty, damaged or not as described.
  • Digital goods are delivered by download link. You may cancel a digital purchase within 14 days for a full refund, unless you have already downloaded it; by downloading within the 14 days you acknowledge that your right to cancel that purchase ends.

11. Your Players and your audience

You run your show; we provide the tools. You agree that:

  • You will comply with the rules of every streaming platform you connect, including their community guidelines, live-streaming rules and age requirements.
  • Player usernames, scores and leaderboards are made available to you only to run and promote your shows. You will not export, sell, share or use them to contact Players outside the platform, and you will handle them in line with data protection law. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with Player data.
  • Any prizes, giveaways, competitions or gift incentives you offer are your responsibility alone. You must make sure they comply with the law where you and your Players are (including UK rules on prize competitions, free draws and lotteries) and with the platform's rules. We are not a party to any prize you offer and do not supply prizes.
  • You are responsible for how you treat Players on your stream.

12. Reviews

If you submit a review, you confirm it is your own honest opinion based on genuine use of the Service. You give us a royalty-free licence to publish it, with the display name you chose and your star rating, on our websites and marketing, and to edit it for length or to remove personal data or offensive material. We may decline to publish, or later remove, any review. We do not pay for reviews and do not publish reviews we know to be fake. You can ask us to take your review down at any time, and the licence ends when it is removed.

13. AI features

  • The AI Quiz Builder and AI Cover Lab generate questions, answers and images using a third-party AI model. AI output can be wrong, out of date, biased or similar to existing material. You must check AI-generated questions and answers before using them in a live quiz, and you are responsible for what you publish.
  • You own the output generated for you, to the extent the law allows, and may use it in your shows. You must not use AI features to generate unlawful, hateful or infringing material.
  • AI features are provided on an "as available" basis and may change as the underlying models change. Credits spent on a generation are not refunded because you did not like the result, but if a generation fails because of a fault on our side we will restore the credits.

14. Acceptable use

You must not use the Service to:

  • break any law or anyone's rights;
  • harass, threaten, bully, defame or discriminate against anyone, including Players;
  • upload or distribute unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, violent or otherwise objectionable material, or material you do not have the right to use;
  • impersonate any person or organisation, or misrepresent your connection with them;
  • send spam, phish, or distribute malware;
  • interfere with, overload, probe or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, its systems or other users' accounts;
  • copy, reverse-engineer, scrape or resell the Service, or build a competing product from it;
  • create accounts or activity by automated means, or circumvent rate limits, security measures, trial limits or paid features.

15. Third-party platforms and services

The Service connects to streaming platforms (currently TikTok Live, with others as we add them) and depends on payment, hosting, email and AI providers. Those third parties are not under our control and your use of them is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for changes to their systems or policies, interruptions they cause, or action they take against your account, and we cannot guarantee that any connector will work with every platform at all times. We will do our best to keep connectors working and to tell you when we cannot.

16. Availability, support and changes to the Service

  • We work to keep the Service available and performing well, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Things occasionally break during live shows; we will fix them as quickly as we reasonably can.
  • We may carry out planned maintenance, normally with notice on the website or by email, and emergency maintenance without notice where security or stability requires it.
  • Support is provided by email and through the in-app inbox during UK business hours. We aim to respond within two working days.
  • We continuously improve the Service and may add, change or remove features. If we remove a feature you specifically pay for, section 8 applies.

17. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, logos, the QuizGames Live and HFGlobal names, and all content we create, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own shows in accordance with these Terms. You get no other rights. Feedback and suggestions you give us may be used by us without obligation to you.

18. Our liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or anything else that the law does not allow us to exclude or limit. If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.

Subject to that:

  • We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these Terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that is not foreseeable, or that is caused by your breach of these Terms, by a third-party platform, or by events outside our reasonable control.
  • Where you use the Service for business purposes, we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, followers, viewers, sponsorships or business opportunity, loss of data that you have not backed up, or indirect or consequential loss.
  • Our total liability to you for all claims arising from the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period, or £100 if greater.

Keep copies of your quizzes and media. The Service is not a backup service.

19. Suspension and termination

  • By you: you can close your account at any time by cancelling your subscription and emailing us to delete the account. Section 8 says what happens to payments.
  • By us: we may suspend or terminate your account, with notice where practicable, if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, do not pay, use the Service unlawfully, or if we are required to by law or a platform. In those cases no refund is due for the remaining period.
  • If we close the Service: we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email and refund the unused part of any period you have paid for.
  • On termination your right to use the Service ends. We will keep and delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 9, 12, 17, 18 and 20) continue to apply.

20. Complaints, governing law and disputes

  • If you have a complaint, email [email protected]. We will acknowledge it within 5 working days and aim to resolve it within 14 days.
  • These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts, and you benefit from any mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live.
  • We are not required to, and do not currently, use an alternative dispute resolution provider.

21. General

  • These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Returns Policy and the Shipping Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
  • If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
  • If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
  • You may not transfer your account or these Terms to anyone else. We may transfer our rights to another business that takes over the Service, and will tell you if we do; your rights will not be reduced.
  • We may contact you by email at the address on your account, and notices sent there count as received the next working day.

22. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. For material changes we will email registered Hosts and post a notice on the website at least 14 days before they take effect. If you do not agree with the new Terms you can cancel before they apply; continuing to use the Service after they apply means you accept them. The version number and dates at the top show when they were last changed, and earlier versions are available on request.
